KOKRAJHAR: Launching of 100 days 150 Targets Development Programme by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Cabinet Minister of Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes, Assam in presence of Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member, Bodoland Territorial Region, the people of BTR have witnessed comprehensive policies to take the council in the right way of sustainable development of all communities.

In a momentous milestone for the people of BTR, Bodoland Territorial Council has launched 100 Days 150 Targets Development Programme. The programme will strengthen the livelihoods and social security infrastructure to address various issues, including reversing the negative consequences of protracted conflict and introducing healing and well-being for the community in accordance with the Peaceful Bodoland vision in a time bound manner.

Through the programme, the government of Bodoland has identified 150 targets across 37 departments along with focused missions like Bodoland Pig Mission, Bodofa Livelihood Mission, Bodoland Sericulture Mission, Bodoland Trade and Industries Development Corporation Limited (BTIDCL), Bodoland Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (BTDCL) placing significant emphasis on livelihood enhancement, social development, Industries and Skill Development with the ultimate goal of making the region’s inhabitants self-reliant and self-sufficient. The government is pursuing this objective by providing extensive support to the drivers of the programme empowering local communities and creating sustainable livelihoods.

The Cabinet Minister of Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes, Assam Dr. Ranoj Pegu formally launched the programme and released the Target Book and programme website in presence of Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member, Bodoland Territorial Region.

While addressing the gathering Dr. Ranoj Pegu highlighted that the involvement of the community in deliverance of service and improving crucial parameters like education. He stated that the current government is very focused on development and will keep monitoring the progress throughout.

BTR Chief Pramod Boro, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Cabinet Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu for gracing the event with his valuable presence. Furthermore, the CEM added the importance of grassroot level planning and implementation for overall development. He also emphasised the importance of quality education which is a must to cultivate human resources who will ultimately lead to development in all sectors. With the same thought the Council Head of Education Department, BTC also shared the plan for improving the education sector of BTR.

The programme adopted data-driven governance practices, which involves timely analysis of data to monitor progress and make informed decisions. This approach is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of governance and ensure that public resources are allocated and utilized optimally. The Government of BTR is running on a mission mode with a great scope of development that has brought many hopes for the people of Bodoland. The government is dedicated to pursuing these goals and fulfilling these hopes which will bring new hopes, motivation, and learning in the region.

Dr. Ranoj Pegu interacted with more than 1200 representatives of SMC, SMDC members from schools in BTR assessed with C and D grades in Gunotsav 2023. He emphasized the participation of society and community to change the education scenario in BTR.
