KOKRAJHAR: The TET qualified candidates under the banner of the BTR Primary TET Qualified Association on Saturday staged a two-hour sit-in at the Government HS&MP School playground demanding early circular for recruitment in primary and upper primary schools. They shouted slogans against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the government of BTC.

Talking to media persons, the president of the BTR Primary TET Qualified Association, Bishu Borgoyary said the TET qualified candidates had been waiting for early recruitment but the government had failed to take necessary initiative to appoint the TET qualified candidates in BTC. He said there were a total of 19,746 TET-qualified candidates in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). He demanded that the government should disclose the official number of vacancies in the BTC area, and that the appointment process should be purely on the basis of merit.

Secretary of the association, Alongbar Daimary said the State Government had already approved the Staff Inspection Unit (SIU) under the department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of Assam, and therefore, the government of BTC should circulate the advertisement for appointment of TET qualified candidates in BTC as early as possible.

Meanwhile, the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro while talking to media persons in Kokrajhar on Saturday, said there were 1,200 TET qualified candidates in BTC whose recruitment had received the SIU approval. He also said the council government would start the process of appointment through advertisement as soon as they receive the SIU approval letter from the State Government.
