Building of commercial complex opposed by Golaghat Regional Students’ Union

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat Regional Students’ Union opposed the building up of a commercial complex adjourning to the playground of Golaghat government Bezbaruah Higher Secondary School.

In a press release, general secretary of the organization Himangsu Saikia said that a delegation of Golaghat AASU comprising of Adviser of Golaghat Regional Students’ Union Biswajit Gogoi, president Hridayranjan Khanikar, general secretary Himansu Saikia on Monday visited Golaghat Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum opposing construction of commercial complex by demolishing school hostel.

Golaghat administration and Numaligarh Refinery Limited signed an agreement to develop the infrastructure of the Golaghat government Bezbaruah Higher Secondary School’s playground. The NRL will release Rs 3.5 crore under its CSR for development of the playground. The AASU demanded to make public the agreement which was signed between Golaghat administration and NRL.
