KOKRAJHAR: Founder of Boro Women's Justice Forum (BWJF) Dr. Anjali Daimary who is also the sister of NDFB founder Ranjan Daimary alias D.R. Nabla has joined the BPF led by Hagrama Mohilary in a function held at Udalguri town on Monday.
The president of BPF Hagrama Mohilary welcomed Dr. Daimary with traditional Aronai and gave her party flag in a well attended function. The meeting of the BPF was also attended by Ministers-Chandan Brahma and Rihon Daimary, Rajya Sabha MP-Biswajit Daimary, general secretary of BPF-Prabin Boro and other senior leaders.
Interacting with media persons after joining the BPF, Dr. Anjali Daimary said she joined the BPF as it was the only regional political party having faith from all communities of BTC region. She said Mohilary had brought many changes within short time which was not possible. She said people of their district had still bitter experience of lack of basic infrastructures, electricity, potable water etc. even after 74 years of Independence of India but Mohilary, within 10-15 years of rule had brought rapid development beyond people's expectations. She also said there had been many more to do and therefore, Mohilary needs people's support.
"I have joined the BPF as it is the only Democratic Party truly working the development for the people of Bodoland for all communities", she said adding that whatever UPPL president Promod Boro claims in oral could not be practical but Mohilary has shown his ability and dynamism of translating developmental aspects.
Meanwhile, sources from BWJF said Dr. Daimary had resigned from the post of president of BWJF and has handed over its charge to the vice president Shanti Basumatary to enter the politics and serve the community better. Sources also said Daimary had dedicated for the BWJF for long 28 years.
