Goalpara: Campaign has been launched on a mission mode in the Goalpara district to accommodate all PM-KISAN beneficiaries under Kisan Credit Card (KCC). According to the official sources, a simplified form has been developed in which KCC beneficiaries will have to provide only a land document and the crops sown to the nearest bank branch from where they are drawing PM-KISAN benefits, for the issue of KCC to them.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka has advised all banks and line departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and panchayat, and rural development, to organize special camps for the dissemination of awareness among all PM-KISAN beneficiaries for enrolment under KCC. She also informed that all service charges for KCC loan up to Rs 3 lakh had been waived and with additional interest subvention of 3 and 4 percent given by the Government of India and State Government respectively, a farmer could avail KCC loan up to Rs 3 lakh at zero percent interest rate. She further informed that all PM-KISAN beneficiaries had been auto-approved for KCC and SMS had been sent from the PM-KISAN portal to all of them. At present, there are 81,220 PM-KISAN beneficiaries and 23,565 KCC cards have been issued by the banks as of December 31, 2019. The gap of 57,655 beneficiaries is the target group for extending KCC card benefits to them.
