Campaign on child protection issues, “Suroxito Xaishab, Sonali Axom” held

HAFLONG: As a part of 90-day campaign on child protection, “Suroxito Xaishab, Sonali Axom” a 1st quarterly convergence meeting was held along with all line departments of District Child Welfare & Protection Committee, Dima Hasao at DC conference hall in Haflong on Friday.

The meeting was chaired by Simanta Kr. Das, ACS Deputy Commissioner with S. Bora, ACS ADC and Additional Superintendent of Police Anal Jyoti Das, APS.

As a part of the programme, Simanta Kumar Das, ACS, Deputy Commissioner along with all the members present in the meeting organized a signature campaign and also flagged off the mobile van campaign vehicle to create more awareness among the public on child protection issues like drugs abuse, child marriage, child labour etc. which are burning issues in the Dima Hasao district.

A 90-day mobile van campaign on child protection issues “Suroxito Xaishab, Sonali Axom” will continue for next six days till July 26.

This 90-day mobile van campaign on child protection issues is organized by District Child Protection Unit, Dima Hasao in collaboration with district administration, District Legal Service Authority, Child Welfare Committee, Special Juvenile Police Unit, & NGOs. The campaign on child protection issues is organised to create more awareness on different social problems like drugs abuse, child marriage, child labour etc.
