Guwahati: After Rhino, a decomposed carcass of a male Royal Bengal tiger was found at Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on Friday.

According to reports, the carcass is around two weeks old and the tiger must have been around 3-4 years old.

Considering the tiger age, as per the concerned authority, the tiger might have been injured during an encounter with other wild animals.

Significantly, the forest officials spotted the tiger in an injured state a few days back.

In last month, the carcass of a full-grown Rhino was also recovered in Hikekahonda under Kaziranga Range in Assam.

Later, it was revealed that poachers have killed it and in a bid to arrest the culprits, the Assam Police had announced cash-rewards of Rs 2 lakh.

These accused were identified as Abdul Matin, Ataur Rahman and Asmat Ali and are residents of Biswanath district who were later arrested.

In order to curb poaching, the Assam Police Special Director General of Police (DGP) of Law and Order, GP Singh had informed in the last month Commando Force will be deployed.
