Casualties due to COVID-19 infection across Assam

JAMUGURIHAT: A resident of Balijuri under Itakhola Outpost near here, Rudra Maya Newar breathed her last at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) in the early hours of Wednesday. She was 45 and had been suffering from cold and cough. She was admitted to TMCH on Monday where she tested positive. The funeral was performed following the COVID-19 protocols in the presence of the Circle Officer of Naduar and personnel of the Sootea Police.

DEMOW: COVID-19 claimed another life in Demow on Wednesday morning. The deceased is Mobidul Borbora (65), a resident of Desang Haluwating.

According to sources, Mobidul Borbora, a resident of Desang Haluwating, tested positive in a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at a private nursing home in Sivasagar on May 3. Mobidul Borbora was under home isolation. He succumbed to the infection on Wednesday morning. This is the third COVID death in Demow.

BARPETA: Altogether four COVID patients died at the FAAMCH (Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital) here on Wednesday.

They are Akbar Ali (53), Shafiur Rahman (68), Kakan Shaha (35) and Mohini Talukdar (42). They were from various parts of Barpeta district.

Till now, a total of 19 persons have died due to COVID-19 in the district. All of them were under treatment in FAAMCH, Barpeta.
