GAURISAGAR: After receiving secret information, Gaurisagar Police led by Officer in-charge Satyajit Borthakur and other police personnel, on Tuesday night visited No 1 Chintamonigarh village.

In the residential campus of Dinnur Ali, son of Faijullah Ali of village no.1 Chintamonigarh, they found one Bolero pick-up van with registration number AS 02 BC 9321 with 10 cattle. The van was going to transport the cows to Nagaon. The driver of the vehicle ran away after seeing police personnel and Dinnur Ali was also not found in the house.

A 1109H Ex 2 BS4 vehicle with registration number AS 02 BC 1657 was also found which was ready to transport cattle. After inquiry and search, another 20 bulls were found in the land of Sahabuddin Ali alias Horubhai, son of Faijullah Ali of village No.1 Chintamonigarh under Gaurisagar Police Station. They were supposed to be transported by the 1109 vehicle. The driver of the 1109 vehicle also fled away.

Both the vehicles were seized and brought to Gaurisagar PS. After proper examination by a veterinary doctor, the cattle were handed over to Geetashram of Chenijan, Jorhat for safe keeping. No legal documents have been produced by anyone against the cattle.
