Cattle-laden truck seized, 2 arrested by Sonitpur police

TEZPUR: In yet another incident of cow smuggling, a cattle laden truck was seized by Sonitpur police at Balipara near the bank of Jia Bharali under Chariduar Police Station. It was going to Meghalaya.

Police officials said, 24 cattle were seized from the truck bearing registration number AS01 EC 8250. Two persons were arrested in this connection.

The arrested persons were identified as Joysowar Dokhar and Rima Sella, resident of village Mou Bokhan, PS North Titon, district Jowai (Jayantia Hills). Further investigation is on.
