MANGALDAI: A team of Mangaldai Police, in a prompt and successful operation, have arrested a notorious gang of cattle lifters and recovered three stolen cows within 12 hours. Promptly acting on the FIR filed by one Utpal Deka of village Mangaldai gaon on the night of June 3, Officer in-charge of Mangaldai Police Station Inspector Mukut Kakati, assisted by Sub Inspector Krishna Kanta Laskar and constable Karuna Kanta Kalita, arrested Inamul Hoque, Lalmiya Ali and Nazir Ali of village Bandia near Mangaldai town and Abbas Ali of Nagajan of Kharuoetia and recovered three stolen cows from the house of the arrested accused Abbas Ali. In another achievement, Mangaldai Police on Saturday arrested three criminals on the charge of snatching an amount of Rs 2 lakh from Abu Tofa Saleh Akram of Panikhaiti under Rowta Police in broad daylight from Mangaldai town and recovered the looted amount.
