Cattle smuggler shot at Khakrikhola under Kokrajhar police station

KOKRAJHAR: One cattle smuggler identified as Khairul Ali was shot at by a police team at Khakrikhola under Kokrajhar police station on Saturday morning while two other persons suspected to be involved in cattle smuggling were arrested by Kokrajhar police from other places. The two persons were identified as Noor Muhammad (33) and Alhas Ali (31), both from Choto Mojabari of Chirang district.

Sources said that the smugglers were trying to steal the cattle in Khakrikhola when the police team intercepted them. The police team also resorted to fire at him when the smugglers tried to flee. Police investigation is going on.
