KOKRAJHAR: The Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar (CITK) hosted an enlightening session on stress management concepts in the Indian knowledge system, followed by an engaging open forum discussion with students on Tuesday. The event, orchestrated from the office of Alumni and External Relations at CITK, was a collaborative effort to address the prevalent challenges faced by today’s youth.

Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta, a distinguished figure known for his remarkable contributions across diverse fields encompassing media, foreign policy, economics, and politics, led the session. His expertise and insights illuminated the significance of Indian philosophy, yoga, and meditation in combating the various challenges encountered by young individuals in their daily lives.

During the session, Dr. Dutta emphasized the pivotal role of traditional Indian practices in managing stress and facing the challenges. He also encouraged the proper utilization of social media platforms to propagate local culture, traditions, and culinary heritage. His guidance aimed to empower students with effective tools for stress management while promoting and preserving the richness of indigenous knowledge.

The session further evolved into an open forum discussion, chaired by Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta, Partha Pratim Dasgupta (Senior Fellow IITG TIDF), and Vikash Sarma from ThinkIndia Assam. Together, they delved into an interactive dialogue with students, addressing their queries and providing inspiration, guidance, and practical solutions.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of both faculty members and students of CITK, who actively engaged in the discussions, fostering an environment of collaborative learning and exchange of ideas.

The culminating moments of the session were graced by a vote of thanks delivered by Bikramjiot Choudhury, Assistant Dean AER, expressing gratitude to the esteemed panel of experts, Director of CITK, Prof. Hemanta Kumar Kalita, Dean of Alumni and External Relations Dr. Pranav Kumar Singh, Prof. Uday S. Dixit of IITG, Kalyan Boro from IITG and all the students and faculty members for their enthusiastic involvement and support in organizing and executing the successful event.

The session, aimed at empowering the younger generation with ancient Indian wisdom and modern approaches to tackle stress, stood as a testament to CITK’s commitment to holistic education and the integration of traditional knowledge systems into contemporary challenges. This event not only provided valuable insights but also served as a platform to ignite a spark of resilience and mindfulness among the students, fostering a community that values the amalgamation of Indian Knowledge and modern techniques in navigating the complexities of today’s world.
