GOLAGHAT: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a month-long plantation drive on a Pan India basis in which the force pledged to plant more than 22 lakh saplings in its campuses located in different parts of the country.
In a press statement by 142 Batallion CRPF said that in order to make this plantation drive successful, the 142 BN CRPF Merapani, Golaghat has taken an Initiative to plant 1,800 saplings in Merapani, Kolajan and Gaurbasti area of D Sector DAB and also inside Sector Office Merapani Campus. All 1,800 pits have been dug up by jawans of the B/142 Bn coy and the plantation of saplings will be over by July 27, the day CRPF celebrates its raising day.
The DFO Golaghat, Forest Range Officer Jamuguri Range has also been very helpful to make the drive successful and provided plants free of cost to 142 BN CRPF. Various DAB area officials including BM D Sector (both states), DSP Border, Forest Range Officer Jamuguri also joined hands with Sector Commander CRPF D Sector in the drive by adhering the concept of social distancing.
