Chaff cutter machines distributed in Chilabandha Agricultural Development Circle

TEZPUR: Several schemes of Agriculture Development Project of the State Government under Chilabanda Agricultural Development Circle were inaugurated by Sootea MLA, Padma Hazarika at Kanyaka Bohumukhi Krishipam, Jamugurihat in Sonitpur district. The programme was organized by Department of Agriculture, Sonitpur.

During the programme chaff cutter machines were distributed at 100% subsidy to four self help groups under Chilabandha Agricultural Development Circle namely Pragati Self Help Group, Ankur Self Help Group, Arihana Self Help Group and Kuhipat Self Help Group under Horticulture Mission for North East & Himalayan States (HMNEH) in the presence of District Agriculture Officer, Sonitpur Pankaj Kumar Saikia, Chilabandha Agricultural Development Officer, Nitumoni Mahanta, Agricultural Extension Assistant, Nripen Rajbanshi and other dignitaries.

Durlabh Bora, Horticulture Coordinator, APART Sonitpur, gave training to the farmers of Choukighat Farmer Producer Company ( FPC) to grow bananas scientifically using tissue culture method under the Horticulture Scheme of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART), Choukighat. Farmers Producer Company (FPC) plans to plant eighteen thousands improved variety of G9 banana seedlings in 7 hectares of agricultural land using tissue culture method. Attending the programme, Pankaj Kumar Saikia, DAO, Sonitpur encouraged farmers to become self-reliant by cultivating the improved variety of G9 banana seedlings obtained from Maharashtra using tissue culture methods. He also mentioned that the agriculture department will provide various forms of assistance in the future.

The programme was attended by District Media Expert, Bitupan Saikia, ADO, Jamuguri, Mantrishna Rajkhowa, Research Technician, APART, Sonitpur Pankaj Barua, office bearers of Kanyaka Bohumukhi Krishipam and other officials.
