Chamuapara Development Society observed death anniversary of Bishnu Prasad Rabha

TANGLA: The death anniversary of cultural icon and revolutionary figure Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha was observed by Chamuapara Development Society at Chamuapara village near Tangla town in Udalguri district on Saturday.

The event kicked off with lighting of lamps by Executive Engineer, Tangla Irrigation Division, Satyaram Kalita who also highlighted the contributions of the artiste. Associate Professor of Assamese, Tangla College, Ghateswar Baruah also spoke about the importance of the day and recalled the contributions of Bishnu Prasad Rabha. He said that Kalaguru was an institution, a versatile genius as well as an expert in politics, sports, architecture, acting, dancing and writing.

National School of Drama alumnus and actor Pabitra Rabha also planted a sapling to mark the occasion. The gathering, which included Professor Hemanta Rabha of the Department of Political Science, Tangla College, also paid floral tribute to the bust of the artiste by maintaining social distancing.
