Chief Executive Member of BTC, Pramod Boro distributes bicycles to students in Kokrajhar

Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro on Friday ceremonially distributed bicycles to the girl students of Kokrajhar district at a function held at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar. The bicycles were distributed to 12,798 students of 92 High Schools in the Kokrajhar district in Class IX.

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro on Friday ceremonially distributed bicycles to the girl students of Kokrajhar district at a function held at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar. The bicycles were distributed to 12,798 students of 92 High Schools in the Kokrajhar district in Class IX.

In his speech as chief guest, CEM Pramod Boro said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took this initiative of distributing bicycles to students to help them reach schools on time and maintain time for their studies. He called upon the students to keep discipline and high morality. “We must follow the footsteps of successful students to become a winner and to decide the right and corrective direction,” he said.

Boro quoted APJ Abdul Kalam and said that students of the first bench and last bench of a room could become great and it depended on hard work and perseverance. He said, “We need multi-talented students for development in multiple directions.” He said students should remember ‘connection’, ‘correction’ and ‘direction’ in life and asked them not to give up education. He also called upon the students to follow ‘do’ and ‘don’t’ and to go ahead with their dreams. “No one likes a bad person but the world respects the person with quality,” he added.

MLA Lawrence Islary said ‘time’ was of utmost important for all in this competitive world and maintenance of time is a great challenge of all. He said bicycles for students were necessary to save time and follow a timely routine for their studies.

EM Reo Reowa Narzihary said many students in rural areas used to travel 3-5 km to reach their schools. He said the distribution of bicycles to students was praiseworthy. He thanked Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BTC chief Pramod Boro for this initiative. He also said the education in BTC had improved considerably at the initiative of Pramod Boro, who is also the in-charge of the Education department.

A meeting was also held where MLA Jiron Basumatary also addressed the students and it was also attended by District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, PK Dwivedi and Director of Education, BTC, Jagadish Prasad Brahma.
