KOKRAJHAR: With the uproar over the Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University (BU), Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh grabbing news headlines, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said he was not happy with the issue of the VC of BU.

Talking to media persons in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, Sarma said Prof. Laishram Ladu Singh has degraded the status of Bodoland University. He said he was not satisfied with the varsity administration by Singh who has degraded the image of the university. He said he had suggested VC Laishram Ladu Singh to step down but he is continuing without justifying his dignity and responsibility. He said students of BU do not want Singh, people of BTC do not want him but despite this fact, he is obstinately holding his position. If he was a wise person, he could have resigned from his position much earlier, he said, adding that action would be initiated against him.

Meanwhile, the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) has temporarily suspended the series of agitation against the VC till October 18 due to the NAAC team’s visit to the university.
