SILCHAR: Family of Dr. Trilokinath Debey, a physician of Dewan TE had sought the intervention of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for justice for their only son Ankur Dubey, who was found dead inside his flat on November 25. While addressing a press meet on Wednesday, Dr. Dubey, his wife Lolita and daughter Shashi Dubey said though they did not wish to point finger at anyone right now but they were sure that Ankur was murdered. Further they expressed resentment over the slow pace of police investigation.

Ankur Dubey, a young medical representative was staying with his wife Arunima Das in a rented flat in Link Road area of the town. He was found hanging inside his flat on November 27. Dr. Trilokinath Dubey on Wednesday said, during that time he was at a private hospital in Silchar for treatment. Ankur stayed with his father in the hospital on the previous night. Later on the fateful day, Ankur went to his rented flat as her mother Lolita had already reached the hospital. In the afternoon, Ankur talked to his mother and said that he would be coming to the hospital very soon. "I clearly heard Arunima' voice when my son was talking to me," Lolita pointed out. The Dubeys alleged that their daughter-in-law later claimed that she was not in the flat when Ankur was speaking to his mother.

"We are not pointing fingers at anyone. But some questions certainly crop up as to why the police initially refused to register the FIR that we had lodged. Secondly, though the Superintendent of Police in the initial stage showed much enthusiasm in the case, but then why the police failed to find out any breakthrough in last two months?" Dr Dubey asked. Shashi Dubey said her husband was informed by someone that Ankur had committed suicide and his body was already been taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. "When we reached the hospital we saw the dead body of Ankur lyin there with clear marks of injuries on his hand and shoulder," Shashi said. She clearly said that they had every reason to believe that Ankur was planfully murdered and money might be the reason behind this. "After marriage Ankur shifted to a rented flat with Arunima. We had no objection to this as there was no family feud over the inter community marriage," Lalita Dubey said, Dr Dubey made a fixed deposit of Rs 12 lakh for his only son. He used to deposit money to his son's account regularly. But after his demise they were stunned to find out that all the bank savings were exhausted.

Dr Dubey said, now they sought the intervention of Himanta Biswa Sarma. ""In the past, the government has bestowed upon me numerous awards. I will return all the prizes to the government if the police fails to catch the culprit," Dr Dubey said in a choked voice.
