Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal directs officials to ensure supply of essential commodities

TINSUKIA: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the preparedness initiated by Tinsukia district administration in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak in presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia and health officials on Friday evening at the conference hall of the DC’s office.

Emphasizing on social distancing, Sonowal called upon the officials of the administration to create awareness to maintain social distancing in all public activities. He also directed the officials to ensure adequate storage and supply of essential commodities during lockdown period. He also requested officials to discharge their duties while maintaining social distancing.

Sonowal asked the district health officials to prepare themselves to handle the situation cautiously and with utmost precaution and dedication. He also advised the district administration to keep a close watch on tea gardens as the garden staff and workers might likely to face shortage of foodstuff and other essential commodities, including their daily ration.
