Chief Minister Sonowal to celebrate Kati Bihu at Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Monpur Pothar is a vast paddy field on the outskirts of Mangaldai town on MPK Road and this paddy field has been well decorated to celebrate Kati Bihu on Saturday evening in presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

To mark the celebration of Kati Bihu on this historic paddy field, Chief Minister Sonowal will light 1,000 bonti in the traditional Assamese way. The Chief Minister will also address the session of State SC Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Bishnu Mandir here and then will proceed to Monpur Pothar. Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das, Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah and Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan have been supervising the brisk preparation for the smooth celebration of the Kati Bihu.
