Chinese pangolin recovered by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau in Boko

Boko: A Chinese pangolin was recovered on Monday night by the forest department, Singra Range and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, at Rajapara under Boko Police Station in Kamrup district. The authorities successfully recovered the pangolin and nabbed two smugglers, Grimith Sangma from Meghalaya and Brajen Rabha from Garchuk, and seized a Hyundai Santro car. The pangolin was handed over to the Assam State Zoo on Monday night and the smugglers were handed over to the Boko Police Station. According to the DFO West Division, Ranjan Goswami, the pangolin weighs 8 kg and its value in the black market is about Rs. 5 lakh.
