DOOMDOOMA: In protest against the labour code and the three farmer Acts, the Centre for Indian Trade Union (CITU) and Nikhil Bharat Kishan Sabha (NBKS) took out a bike rally from Dholla to Doomdooma on Sunday.
The protesters demanded immediate repeal of these Acts brought in by the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led NDA Government at the Centre. They also demanded the repeal of Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and checking of steep rise of the prices of the petroleum products and of essential commodities. Later a protest meeting was held on the premises of Doomdooma Railway Station, where Maneswar Barman on behalf of NBKS and Satyabadi Mura and Mathura Sarmah on behalf of CITU took part. In their speeches the CITU and NBKS leaders were highly critical of the 'anti-labourer' and 'anti-farmer policies' of the Central government and exhorted the people to fight unitedly.
