Guwahati: The Standard Operating Procedure for the opening of educational institutes in the state is set to be released by the Assam Educational Department on September 1, 2021. In regard to the SOP, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the department will abide by the guidelines set by the Assam Health Department.
In addition, the education minister also clarified that there is no problem with the availability of seats for the new admissions of HS 1st year. The admission process for the first-year students will run smoothly in all institutes, except for few institutes that offer admission to students right after appearing for the matriculation examination. The education minister also informed that the education department is planning to conduct classes in two shifts - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu also informed that private schools like Jatiya Bidyalay and Sankardev Sishu Niketan have been allowed by the government to start classes for 11th standard.
Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had asked the Assam Police to file an FIR (First Information Report) against person(s) who had circulated a fake message on Whatsapp.
The CM's tweet said, "A fake announcement, purportedly issued from my Twitter account, about non-opening of schools is being circulated on WhatsApp. This is a fake message and should not be given heed to. Assam Police, please file an FIR."
