GORESWAR: In connection with three-day long Independence Day celebration, Tamulpur Civil subdivision organized a cleanliness drive on Tuesday at Matangapar Park and Bishnu Rabha Park at Natun Hauly under Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district.

Employees of Public Health Engineering Department, Forest Department, Medical Department, Education Department, members of NGOs and SHGs, senior citizens, people in general and students took part in the cleanliness drive.

Earlier, a welcome address was given by Sujit Bagalry, SDO of Tamulpur civil subdivision at Tamulpur Higher Secondary School field. Deben Boro, EM of BTC, formally inaugurated the cleanliness drive. A sapling plantation was also held on the occasion. Samiran Baruah, Assistant Executive Engineer (PHE), Hriday Kumar Das, Assistant Commissioner, Tamulpur Civil subdivision, and other dignitaries took part in sapling plantation programme. Emanual Muchahary, MLA of Tamulpur LAC, formally inaugurated the cleanliness drive at Bishnu Rabha Park at Natun Hauly near Tamulpur. Bijit Goura Narzary, MCLA of Darangajuli BTC constituency, also took part in the cleanliness drive.
