Closing ceremony of Poshan Maah held at conference hall of the District Centre, Kajalgaon

BONGAIGAON/KOKRAJHAR: The closing ceremony of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah which was celebrated from September 1 to September 30, 2021 was held at the conference hall of the District Centre, Kajalgaon on Friday.

During their month-long activities, the District Social Welfare Office, Chirang, being the nodal department for POSHAN Abhiyaan, organized several activities like growth monitoring of children, demonstration of food recipes, celebration of Sishu Mongal Divas, Matri Amrit, annaprashan among the orphanage children, identification of Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) children, inauguration of kitchen gardens, display of cultural activities of various communities, sports, serving nutrition foods to pregnant women and children, health check-ups for identification of SAM children, block-level recipe completion, organizing Village Health Nutrition Day (VHND), plantation, local food demonstration, yoga, rallies as focused activities along with awareness generation regarding importance of early breast feeding, need for good nutrition for pregnant and children.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest of the programme, Narendra Kumar Shah, Deputy Commissioner of Chirang, appreciated all the officials of social welfare department for successfully celebration of the Poshan Maah in the district. He said that officials and staff of the social department had done tremendous job during the month by organizing various activities. He expressed hope that the department would continue rendering their services in the same speed even after the Poshan Maah. Deputy Commissioner Shah further emphasized the importance of maintaining good nutrition and health as also on how it could be achieved by consuming local diets.

On the occasion, the department gave a presentation on the activities and initiatives undertaken during the Poshan Maah. The programme was also attended by Dr. Mopia, District Social Welfare Officer Shyameswar Mushahary and a host of officials and staff of the social welfare department of Chirang district.

MORIGAON: Along with the rest of the country, the Bhurbandha ICDS project on Friday celebrated the conclusion of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah -2021 at Lukakuchi AWC under Solmari circle. The supervisor of Solamari circle, Malabika Barua conducted the closing ceremony programme in presence of DSWO Santosh Kutum, DSWO (Kamrup metro) Debajit Bora and BC Dhruba Konwar. Earlier, a felicitation programme was held where the invited guests were felicitated by the supervisor and AWW in the programme. A local fruit mela was held which was inaugurated by DSWO Debajit Bora. On the other hand, Mayong ICDS project celebrated the closing ceremony of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2021 at Baghara. The CDPO of Mayong ICDS, Pranamika Phukan inaugurated the programme fruit mela in presence of BC Mridusmita Takbi and other officials.
