Closure order to 17 packaged drinking water processing units in Hojai District
A CORRESPONDENT
HOJAI: The District Magistrate Anupam Choudhury via an order dated October 30, 2021 issued 'Closure' order to 17 packaged drinking-water processing units operating within Hojai District.
The District Magistrate issued this prohibitory order under Section 144 of Cr.P.C; and it with immediate effect until further order.
As per the order, the following water-processing units in Hojai are M/s Doctor Water (Gobindapally); M/s Fresh Aqua (Krishnanagar); Bajrang Water (Sagar Basti); M/s GSS Water (Sagar Basti); M/s Krishna Water (Dakhin Bidyanagar); and M/s Kailash Aqua (Dakhin Bidyanagar);
In Lanka: M/s Dow Drop (Vill -2 No. Lanka Gate); M/s Santi Water (Shillong Road);M/s Amizing (L.P Road); M/s Pushpa Aqua(Kumar Patty); M/s Kopali Neer Drinking Water (Islam Basti); M/s Nijora Drinking Water (Lanka Patty).
In Lumding: M/s Soyli Industries (Ward No 11, Lumding); M/s Sitla Drinking Water(Ward No 11, Lumding); M/s Arjun Enterprise(Ward No 2,Lumding); M/s Priya Enterprise (Ward No 1,Lumding) and M/s Maa Kali Drinking Water (Ward No.1, Natun Basti).
As per the order, these units were processing packaged drinking water for commercial purposes without obtaining the mandatory licence and clearance certificate from the Bureau of Indian Standard, FSSAI, Central Ground Water Board, Assam Pollution Control Board, Legal Metrology, trade licence,e various test reports like radioactive, uranium, iron, barium, sulphur chloride, PH and container test reports.
