KOKRAJHAR: In connection with the Cabinet meeting at BTC Secretariat on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Bodoland Administrative Staff College at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar in presence of BTC Chief Pramod Boro. The Bodoland Administrative Staff College would be run at Bodofa Cultural Complex Kokrajhar for the time being.

Sarma said that the Bodoland Administrative Staff College will facilitate knowledge on 6th schedule administration to the civil servants. He said the civil servants of the State would be given training on 6th schedule administration where the civil officers will learn more about tribal belts and blocks and other administrative ideas related to tribal people.

The CM also visited the ongoing construction site of Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital at Besorgaon in Kokrajhar accompanied by BTC Chief and other Cabinet ministers and inspected the progress of work. The academy of Kokrajhar Medical College is likely to be operational from next year and Cancer Care Hospital in the complex is already operational.

In another programme at BTC Secretariat Complex, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stones for the construction of Residential Complex of EMs and MCLAs of BTC which will be constructed at Harinaguri, Baokhungri. The foundation stones of quarter buildings (G+5) at a tune of Rs 99.95 crore was laid. In the same event, CM also ceremonially launched the construction of 229 VCDC Bhawans in BTR. The construction of VCDC Bhawans will be constructed under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and 6th Assam State Finance Commission.
