DHUBRI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took part in the 9th International Yoga Day celebration at the Jhagrapara stadium on Wednesday morning as the chief guest of the event, organiszed jointly by Health and Family Welfare Department and National Ayush Mission, Assam in collaboration with Dhubri district administration.
The Chief Minister also participated in the meeting of BN College celebrating the platinum jubilee in the college auditorium and inaugurated the newly-constructed indoor stadium of the college. He also planted a seedling of Rudraksha tree in Dhubri Circuit House and inaugurated the ‘I Love Dhubri’, a symbol of cultural and religious unity and integration in the Rajiv Gandhi Children’s Park crafted in terracotta style.
Earlier, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his two-visit to Dhubri district, arrived on Tuesday and addressed a public meeting at Indra Narayan Academy Field in Bilasipara and thereafter move to Golokganj wherein he formally inaugurated the Golokganj-Kanuri Bridge and visited Ramrai Kuti at Satrasal and held a meeting with the Xatra Adhikary and border villagers of the area.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, Guardian Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah, Rajya Sabha MP Pabitra Margherita, former BJP legislator from Golokganj, Ashwani Roy Sarkar and a host of high officials from Dispur and local party workers.
