MANGALDAI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ceremonially launched the State BJP's 'Gandhi Sankalpa Yatra' programme at Sipajhar in Darrang district on October 15 as a part of the party's nationwide campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a clean, green, plastic-free and fit India.

In this connection, the BJP workers of the Mangaldai Parliamentary Constituency organized a rally at Sipajhar Academy playground. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister made an appeal to the people of the State to get inspired with the ideology of Bapuji and follow the path of Prime Minister Modi to transform the State into a clean, green, plastic-free and ideal place in the country.

On the occasion, he offered felicitation to the family members of the freedom fighters of the locality and also took part in the road show for a short period. Earlier, he arrived at the venue in a helicopter which landed in the nearby makeshift helipad.

State Revenue Minister Bhabesh Kalita, Mangaldai parliamentarian Dilip Saikia, BJP legislators from Sipajhar and Mangaldai, Binanda Kr Saikia and Gurujyoti Das along with many senior leaders of the State BJP, including Anup Barman, attended the meeting followed by the several kilometres long road show called Pada Yatra. The programme has been organized by the party in all the Lok Sabha constituencies of the State.
