CM urges people to follow ideals of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged the people of Assam to follow the ideals and teachings of Param Premamoi Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra to build a harmonious society in the State. He made this call while attending the Dhriti Bartana Mahotsav of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra at the Mousanda pathar of Kaliabar in Nagaon district on Sunday.

Chief Minister Sonowal said that to perform our duties and responsibilities in the society, there is a need to follow the teachings of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra. This will fortify the belief system of the followers and guide them in successfully performing their duties. He said that God lives in our hearts and we all are His manifestations. Therefore to keep the virtues of the creator alive in our life, we must have to internalize the teachings of our gurus. He hoped that following the teachings of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra, people of Assam would strive to build a peaceful and harmonious society in the State.

He said that devotion has the power to generate love in our hearts and this helps to establish peace in society. Stating that Mahapurush Srimanta Sarkardeva showed us the power that devotion could deliver, he said that Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra also propagated the same path of following the social causes with devotion and dedication and humanitarian values.

He moreover called upon the people of the State to put joint efforts in their fight against superstition and all social evils. The Chief Minister also hoped that Dhriti Bartana Mahotsav would send a positive social message for promoting peace and harmony in the state.

Minister of Finance Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma while delivering a speech on the occasion said that Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra taught his followers to spread love in society. He also said that Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra spread the message of strong social values and the importance of building strong families for furthering the cause of nation-building.

While the Water Resources Minister and president of the organizing committee Keshav Mahanta inaugurated the meeting held on the occasion, the welcome address was delivered by the working president of the Mahotsav Dr. Bhaben Tanti. MLA of Sarbhog LAC Ranjeet Kumar Dass also spoke on the occasion. The vote of thanks was offered by MLA of Bijni LAC and General Secretary of the Mahotsav Kamal Singh Narzary. MLAs Ashok Sarma, Ashwini Roy Sarkar, and Rupak Sarma, members of the organizing committee and the large number of followers of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra were present in the meeting.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sonowal offered his obeisance to Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra and interacted with Param Pujyapad Sri Sri Bobai da on the occasion, stated a press release.
