TEZPUR: Mahasunyor Naxa, a collection of Assamese short stories containing 159 pages written by Hasna Baruah, was unveiled in a ceremony held at the Sonitpur Journalist Union premises on Friday. The book contains 19 stories on various topics.

The occasion was presided over and conducted by Professor Shylen Das and journalist Ashwani Bora respectively. The programme began with a poem recited by cultural activist Nilima Bezbaruah. It was attended by Professor Raghab Mahanta, Soban Borah and other dignitaries.

Releasing the book formally, retired Professor of Darrang College, Dr Jyotshna Sharma Bezbaruah said that the stories were based on some emotions, affection and voices which had been suppressed for too long. She also said that literature and books should be value oriented in the proper sense and they must attract the attention of the readers so that they read they books multiple times.
