Commemorative meeting in memory of Paban Dutta founder of DPC held

DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of Doomdooma Press Club (DPC) and in association with Hoonlal Higher Secondary School, a commemorative meeting in memory of Paban Dutta, a former teacher of the school and one of the founders of DPC, was held at Hoonlal HS School premises on Saturday with senior journalist Arjun Baruah in the chair.

In the beginning, DPC president Anuj Kalita lit the ceremonial lamp while Principal, Hoonlal HS School, Alip Khan placed floral wreath in front of his portrait. A commemorative souvenir was also published on the occasion under the joint editorship of Arjun Baruah and Abhijit Khatniar. Dr Rishi Das, president, Tinsukia District Journalists' Association (TDJA), formally released the souvenir.

MLA Rupesh Gowala, a former student of the school, who was present on the occasion. He reminisced about his school days and Paban Dutta as a teacher. Besides him, the meeting was also addressed by Principal Alip Khan, founder president of DPC, Dhiren Deka, president of Doomdooma Senior Citizens' Association, Gobinda Phookan, and others.
