Concluding ceremony of platinum jubilee celebration kickstarts in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The concluding ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebration organized by Undivided Lakhimpur District Committee of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha (Shrimanta Sankardev Sangha, Abibhakta Lakhimpur Jila Sakha) kick-started with a two-day long agenda from Saturday.

The event was hosted by Dinabandhu Anchalik Sakha and Chintamoni Prathamik Sakha of the organization at a natural landscape on the bank of Ranganadi River near NH-15. The agenda of the event began with a plantation drive followed by the registration of Sewa Bahini members, inauguration of platinum jubilee gate. Then Lakhimpur district unit president Chakradhar Sonowal unfurled the organizational flag.

It was followed by a convention of the Sewa Bahini members along with a felicitation programme. The programme was chaired by former Sewa Bahini Adhinayak Hemanta Kalita. Central Committee Sewa Bahini Mukhya Adhinayak Tapan Kumar Rai graced the occasion as an appointed speaker who laid stress on building a strong, integrated society of the greater Assamese community by rendering relentless services by the members of the Sewa Bahini.

Former district unit Sewa Bahini Adhinayak Lohit Kakati delivered lecture on the Krishna culture and its ideologies of unification as guest of honour.

The book release programme of the concluding ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebration commenced with the presentation of a Borgeet. In the programme, Professor of Madhavdev University, Goutam Kakati released the memorabilia publication, edited by Dhaneswar Tamuli Phukan. On the other hand, Srimanta Sankardev Sangha core committee member Jivan Bhuyan released 'Unnat Prathamik' written by Mahendra Mohan Saikia while retired Principal of Lakhimpur DIET Nabin Chandra Dutta released 'Suchanda Boyona' the souvenir of the event.

It was followed by the cultural convention which was chaired by former cultural section president Prabhat Bhuyan.
