Congress candidate for Thowra LAC confident of winning bye-election

DEMOW: The Congress party announced the name of Manuranjan Konwar as the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate for the bye-election in Thowra constituency on Monday night.

A press meet was organized in Demow Rajiv Bhavan on Tuesday afternoon where Manuranjan Konwar said that there were five other ticket aspirants besides him. He said that all of them would unitedly fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Thowra constituency, Sushanta Borgohain. He slammed Sushanta Borgohain for leaving the Congress and joining the BJP.

"The Congress has 145 booth centres and every day in 145 places, Congress workers are visiting house-to-house and campaigning. The Congress is in a strong position and we will definitely win," said Manuranjan Konwar.
