LAKHIMPUR: Intensifying its protest on the Adani issue and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha MP, the Lakhimpur District Congress Committee (LDCC) on Friday launched ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha’ agitation in Lakhimpur.
In this connection, LDCC organized a public rally at Shanti Sangha located at Naoboicha, in association with Naoboicha and Karunabari Block Congress Committees. Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah, senior spokesperson-cum-Naoboicha MLA Bharat Narah took part in the event along with several senior Congress leaders.
Addressing the public, APCC president Bhupen Borah made a scathing attack on BJP-led governments at the Centre and in the State. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging his failure in fulfilling his election-related promises.
The APCC president hit Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding the agreement inked between Assam and neighbouring States in view of resolving inter-state border dispute. He alleged that Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, with the agreement, handed over the rights for the demarcation of the border to the Chief Ministers of the neighbouring States.
