BAKSA: Political parties have stepped up their poll campaign ahead of the bypolls to two constituencies across Assam. Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Borah, MP Gaurav Gogoi and Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia arrived at Tamulpur Rajiv Bhavan on Saturday. They attended a workers' meet of Baksa District Congress Committee at Tamulpur Rajiv Bhavan.

APCC president Bhupen Borah expressed hope that the people of Tamulpur would give a befitting reply to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) this time in the bypolls. Replying to a question by mediapersons on the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and the Congress-AIUDF alliance, he said, "We will not go to Delhi this time. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have given us the authority so a decision on elections will be taken in consultation with grassroots workers."
