Tezpur: Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika asked the senior Congress leaders to show their concern and sympathy to former Congress leader Moni Kumar Subba rather than showing concern towards sitting Member of Parliament of Tezpur Ram Prasad Sarmah.
Addressing a public meeting at Biswanath Chariali on Wednesday ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls, MLA Padma Hazarika said that the party high command is equally concern about our MP RP Sarmah, therefore, Congress party should stop thinking about sitting MP RP Sarmah.
“It has come to light that many senior leaders from Congress party are showing their concern after denial of candidature to RP Sarmah from Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency. Our party is well aware of the fact that MP RP Sarmah had gone through a major surgery recently and therefore, his body needs rest. BJP high command is concern about it and thus, he was denied the candidature from the Tezpur constituency in the upcoming general elections,” said MLA Padma Hazarika.
Hazarika also suggested the Congress leaders to show their sympathy and concern upon their own leader Moni Kumar Subba who is undergoing treatment since a couple of years.
Hazarika also prayed for the better health of sitting MP RP Sarmah and suggested for bed rest for at least one year. “He can again come back to work after proper bed rest,” added Hazarika.
