"Congress' mission is commission, while the BJP works in a mission mode" - Nadda

GUWAHATI: Launching a scathing attack on Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda said that the grand old party has only been indulged in corruption during its regime with no development in the region.

He stated that it was the BJP party that has worked on a mission mode, whereas Congress was only interested in commission.

"For 60 years, Congress leaders only indulged in corruption and so for the last five years, we had to fill up pot-holes, repair roads and convert double-lane highways to four and six-lanes", the BJP president said.

Speaking about the five guarantees that the Congress party has guaranteed if it comes to power, the BJP President said that the Congress party can provide only a "corruption guarantee".

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra recently announced a five-guarantee campaign in poll-bound Assam. As per the guarantee, the party promised to provide five lakh jobs in five years, a law to nullify the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act, raising the daily wage of tea workers to Rs 365, free electricity up to 200 units per household and Rs 2,000 monthly income support to all housewives.

While accusing the Congress of distorting everything, he said it's Prime Minister Narendra Modi who mends everything.

Congress knows "latkana" (delaying), "atkana" (stalling) and "bhatkana" (misleading) but Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes in "jodna" (integrating), Nadda said.

"It is the Prime Minister who through his initiatives has joined Assam and the Northeast with Mainstream India", Nadda added.

Nadda was addressing an election rally in Dhekuakhana constituency which will be going to polls on March 27, for BJP candidate Nabakumar Doley. He addressed two more rallies at Sootea and Barchalla.

While appreciating the efforts made by the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government in Assam, Nadda asserted that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's endeavour who through his initiatives has joined Assam and the Northeast with Mainstream India.
