MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the consecration of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya on Monday, the Darrang District Committee of Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Monday evening illuminated the streets of Mangaldai town with one lakh earthen lights. The ever busy Mahatma Gandhi Road and part of Lakhsmi Nath Bezbarua Road this evening has been transformed into a place of holy pilgrimage as thousands of people from different corners of Mangaldai and its adjoining areas came to witness this illuminated evening. The added attraction of this evening was to witness the Ram, Laxman and Sita along with Hanuman carrying bows and arrows and the Goda. Sipajhar legislator Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, former legislator Guru Jyoti Das, office bearers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP also joined the unique celebration. All the residents of this district headquarters town lit earthen lights in their courtyards. A grand celebration was also celebrated at Kharupetia with tremendous enthusiasm. Devotees performed prayers and Naam Prasanga in all the Hindu religious temples and Mandirs of this district.
