Constable driver of absconding DIGP Prasanta Kumar Dutta arrested

MANGALDAI: Darrang Police on Saturday night has arrested the driver of absconding retired DIGP Prasanta Kumar Dutta from the battalion headquarters of 3rd APTF and also recovered the Suzuki Nexa car bearing registration number AS 01DU 6867 from a village near Baihata Chariali in Kamrup (rural) district. The car is registered in the name of Swapnashree Dutta. The arrested driver has been identified as driver constable (no. 696) Anowar Ali son of Sabed Ali of village Patrapur under Baihata Chariali Police Station in Kamrup (Rural) district. The arrested driver of 3rd Assam Police Task Force (APTF) at Khazuabeel in Koupati in Darrang district was attached with the absconding retired DIGP Prasanta Kumar Dutta since his appointment as the Commandant of the 3rd APTF. Meanwhile, the CID has taken over the custody of the arrested driver constable Anowar Ali.
