Guwahati: The Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner's Office has been sealed yet again after Assistant district commissioners (ADC) of the district tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus on Tuesday (August 18).
As per reports, ADCs Debeshwar Bora and Bhaskar Das tested positive for the novel coronavirus through the Rapid Antigen testing method.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Kokrajahar deputy commissioner Bhaskar Phukan has declared that the office of the Deputy Commissioner shall be treated as a Containment Zone area till August 22.
The office was similarly sealed on Thursday, July 23, after a peon working in the complex was ascertained as a carrier of the Wuhan-originating virus.
Presently, there are 256 active coronavirus cases in Kokrajhar district. Six people have died of coronavirus infections in the district so far.
The death toll due to the novel coronavirus in Assam climbed to 197 on Monday (August 17) after eight more people succumbed to the deadly virus in the past 24 hours.
The state also detected 2,792 new coronavirus positive patients on Monday. Since the first coronavirus case was detected, Assam has registered 79,667 cases.
