COVID-19 Outbreak: Golaghat District Magistrate issues prohibitionary order

GOLAGHAT: In view of the outbreak of COVID 19 in the country, Golaghat district administration has taken a series of preventive measures to ensure that COVID-19 spread is reduced in the district of Golaghat by way of ensuring strict observance of the protocols of the Assam COVID-19 Containment Regulations, 2020.

In this context, District Magistrate Bibhash Chandra Modi on Sunday issued a prohibitionary order exercising powers under regulation 34 of the Assam COVID-19 Containment Regulations, 2020 and u/s 144 CrPC with immediate effect in Golaghat district. The order prohibits moving in public places and premises without a mask, bans both use and sale of gutkha, any sort of pan masala and spitting in public places, gathering of five or more persons in close proximity and pillion riding on two wheelers.

Moreover, institutions / work places exempted on the basis of different directives of the Government of India as well as the directions of the Government of Assam from time to time are directed to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols, making adequate arrangement for temperature screening, sanitizer and hand wash. All the common surfaces are to be frequently cleaned. No institution/ organization, either government/quasi government/ non-governmental organizations /CBOs / private organization can resume office or open its campus / premises without doing sanitization thereof, stated the order.
