RANGIA: Tension prevailed when COVID-19 patients in the COVID Care Centre of Changsari blocked the NH-31 on Thursday. They alleged that they got neither food nor drinking water till morning. Moreover, 10-12 patients had been accommodated in a room and the condition of the beds was also not up to the mark.

After being informed, Babul Medhi of Changsari police station and Kailash Karthik N, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner, rushed to the spot. They had a discussion with the patients. Deputy Commissioner Kailash Karthik N assured them to solve their problems. After the discussion, the agitators withdraw their protest. Due to increase in the number of COVID-19 patients, the Assam Government has set up a COVID Care Centre in the godown of Havells near Changsari.
