LAKHIMPUR: During the third wave of contagion, the number of COVID-19 positive cases has increased suddenly in Lakhimpur district along with the rest of the State. A total of 206 COVID-19 cases were detected in the district in last three days.

On Saturday, the district logged a total of 99 COVID-19 positive cases. Out of them, 91 cases were detected as per Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while the rest 8 cases were found to be positive as per Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Test. The RAT cases were reported from Dhalpur BPHC (2), Bihpuriya BPHC (3), Naoboicha BPHC (3), Boginadi BPHC (15), Ghilamora BPHC (10), Dhakuakhana BPHC (2), Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (48) and Private Nursing Homes (8).

On the other hand, a total of 107 cases were detected in the district on Thursday and Friday. Of them, 83 cases were reported as per RAT conducted across the district on those two days, while 24 cases were registered as per RTPCR. Altogether 49 RAT cases were registered on Thursday and 34 RAT cases were registered on Thursday.

With these fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district has hiked to 13,463 since April 1 of the last year including 916 RTPCR cases.
