BAKSA: Two persons on Saturday tested COVID-19 positive in Kumarikata area along the Indo-Bhutan border under Tamulpur subdivision and two others in Tamulpur in the district of Baksa.

The two persons have been identified as Kishori Sharma (52) of Darangamela Garage Line and Rakesh Murmu (34) of Sukanjuli village. On the other hand, one person named Ritu Kalita (35) of Dongragaon village and Jyotish Kalita (58), who came from Guwahati to get COVID vaccine, tested positive during testing at Tamulpur Primary Health Centre on Saturday.

There are 36 active cases in different parts of Tamulpur subdivision in Baksa district.

Barpeta: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Barpeta district increased to 448 as 84 new cases were detected on Saturday.

Among them, 10 are from outside the district. There are a total of 397 active COVID cases in Barpeta. The number of COVID cases in Nityananda BPHC is 19, eight in Bhabanipur BPHC, 10 in Barpeta Road BPHC, three in Nagaon BPHC, four in Kalgachiya BPHC, nine in Chenga BPHC, eight in FAAMCH, Barpeta and some in private hospitals.

A total of 47 patients have been discharged. Three were sent to Guwahati for better treatment.

LAKHIMPUR: On Saturday, a total of 22 fresh COVID-19 patients were detected in the district as per Rapid Antigen Test results.

The District Health Department conducted the RAT on 1,189 persons across the district on Saturday, out of which the 22 people tested positive for coronavirus infection. These cases were reported from North Lakhimpur urban (4), Dhalpur (4), Naoboicha (3), Boginadi (4) and North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital Respiratory Clinic (7).

With these newly-detected patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 patients of the district has hiked to 8,236 since April 4 of the last year. Out of them, 8,021 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals and home quarantine while there are 154 active cases at present. On Saturday, 7 recovered patients were discharged from home quarantine.

DEMOW: A total of 39 new cases for COVID-19 were detected in Sivasagar district on Saturday.

According to sources, there are 246 active cases in the district. Total 176 patients are under home isolation, 65 in Sivasagar Civil Hospital, two in Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital, one in AMCH, one in Urovision Hospital, Dibrugarh, and one in Sanjeevani, Dibrugarh. Fifteen patients were discharged on Saturday.
