COVID-19 prevention: Assam Govt. to start door-to-door sample collection

In order to put in place more effective COVID-19 prevention measures, the Government of Assam will take a step for door-to-door collection of samples in the state. Hinting at taking up such a step soon, Health Minister Himanta Sarma, on Sunday said that he had held a video conference with all the districts' Deputy Commissioners in the state to review COVID-19 pandemic related issues including the proposed door-to-door collection of samples. "Held a VC (video conference) with all DCs to discuss to review the ongoing process of Assam Community surveillance programme for COVID-19 which includes door-to-door survey, screening, and collection of blood samples. We need to gear up to contain the increase in positive cases in the state," the Minister tweeted.
