LAKHIMPUR: Along with the other parts of the State, the number of COVID-19 cases is on the rise in Lakhimpur district too. A total of 23 COVID-19 patients were detected in the district on Saturday.

Out of them, five patients were detected as per the result of 'real time Revers Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction' (rRTPCR) Test reported from Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh. These patients have been identified as Madhab Lahon (38) of Lahon Gaon of Bihpuriya, PrashantaSaikia (38) of Rampur-Simaluguri who is a returnee from Hyderabad, Pradip Sonowal of 13 thAPBn of Lilabari, BubulKhataniar (59) of Milan Nagar and Prashanta Pathak (34) of Bijay Nagar Khelmati.

On the other hand, 18 patients were detected through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) in the district on the day. They are DipsikhaGogoi (29) of Ahuchaol Gaon, Rajesh Basfor (28), NilmalaBasfor, (24), RitwikBasfor (5), RihanBasfor (2) of Ward No. 13, NiponDihingiya (36), CharuRajbonshi (50), PolashGogoi (41), Hiren Dolakasariya (55), Bipul Borah (50), Gopinath Brahma (51), Tankeswar Deka (52), Tanka Bahadur Chetri (52), Gopinath Brahma (55), Biren Sing Kraw (54), SarbeswarGogoi (46), NipumoniDhariaya (26) and Ranju Deka (24) of 13th APBn camp at Lilabari. With these patients, the number of COVID-19 cases has spiked to 479 in the district. Out of them, 331 patients have been discharged while 148 are active cases.
