BISWANATH CHARIALI: The complete lockdown clamped in Biswanath district along with the stringent measures adopted by the administration to contain the deadly virus have lowered the COVID-positivity rate to below 2% in the district.
.Personnel of the Gohpur sub-divisional administration along with those of the Assam Police and CRPF also carried out 'Foot March' in Gohpur town on Wednesday. It was part of the effort to make the masses aware of the importance of obeying the COVID laws.
Meanwhile in a positive development, the positivity rate dropped to 1.67 percent in Biswanath district on Wednesday. According to information, a total number of 3,851 RATs and 42 RT-PCR tests were carried out across the district and among them, only 65 persons tested COVID positive. The infected people were shifted to several COVID Care Centres. However, one infected person lost his life during the day.
