Crackdown on Drug Peddlers Racket Continues in Dhubri District

DHUBRI: Based on secret information, an ambush was conducted on NH-31 at Balajan under Gauripur Police Station of Dhubri district led by Sub-Inspector, Manoj Newar of Balajan outpost. A drug peddler named Mozammel Hoque of Debattar Hasdaha Part V village under Golakganj Police Station of Dhubri district was apprehended.

Police recovered 23 bottles of Bolirex cough syrup, 62 Proxyvan Spas capsules, 22 Nitrazepam tablets, 16 Payvon Spas plus capsules and Rs 1800. In another raid, Officer-in-charge of Golakganj police station along with Assistant Sub-Inspector, R Hoque, conducted raid in the house and premises of Piyush Chandra Madak (31) of Pokalagi village and recovered 5.8 kg ganja. Ajit Kumar Sarkar (34) of the same village, suspected to have been involved in drug peddling, was also rounded up.
